Third Act Lab:

An 8-week GROUP coaching cohort for people ready to make something happen.

Has one act of your life completed and you're wondering what's next? Are you swamped with paid work and family obligations and want to make room for creative work? Are you contemplating a major career or life shift? You might be ready for a third act.

Third Act Lab is an 8-week cohort where you'll make concrete progress on a project or transition that matters to you. This isn't about dreaming or planning—it's about doing, with the support and accountability of a small group moving forward together.

How It Works

The Structure: You come to the cohort with one project or life shift you want to work on. Each week, you share your progress, get feedback from the group, and set small, achievable goals for the coming week. The power is in the consistency: showing up weekly, being accountable to others, and watching what happens when you actually make space for what matters.

What You'll Work On: Third Act Lab welcomes all kinds of projects—from the terrifyingly ambitious to the deceptively simple. What matters is that it matters to you.

Some people come with big, risky projects that have been waiting for the right moment:

  • Changing careers or starting a business

  • Writing a book or making art

  • Launching a creative project you've been putting off

  • Building something new from scratch

Others come with projects that sound manageable but require real commitment and support:

  • Making regular time for creative work amid other obligations

  • Establishing a sustainable practice (writing, art-making, movement)

  • Figuring out what's next after a major life transition

  • Actually finishing something you started years ago

  • Reorganizing your life to reflect your current priorities

We find that "simple" projects are often profoundly meaningful and difficult to achieve. Because you bring your whole self to Third Act Lab—your fears, your constraints, your actual life—a project that sounds straightforward on paper can be the hardest thing you do. That's why you need the group.

The key is choosing one thing with a measurable outcome (or something more open-ended if that's your process) that you can make real progress on in eight weeks. Big projects can span multiple rounds—your eight-week commitment is one meaningful milestone.

The Format:

  • 8 weekly sessions, 90 minutes each

  • Small groups (5-8 participants maximum)

  • Virtual/Zoom format

  • Peer coaching model with facilitated feedback

  • Co-facilitated by Rebecca Novick and Susan Snyder

What Participants Say:

"Standard accountability groups don't work for me and I've been nervous to join groups like this in case I wound up feeling like a failure again. This was very different in only good ways. I felt very affirmed and it was a joy to witness the other members' project choices and their real, imperfect and impressive movement towards their goals."

"Susan and Rebecca curate a lovely supportive space to advance in a personal and/or professional project, while benefiting from the wisdom, advice and accountability of a small group of invested peers."

"Joining the Third Act Lab was an experiment. I knew and trusted one of the facilitators, but didn't know anyone else. Yet among this group of strangers, the honesty and realness was refreshing, and we had a high level of acceptance for each other's quirks. After each session, I got excellent feedback from the other participants and usually left with a lot of food for thought, new ideas, and fresh perspectives."
